My top choice is Atom, but for minimalists who want a little more than Notepad, Notepad++ is great!

You can give a try to VS code (free). Its pretty good. Other options are Sublime (paid). Atom (free). Hope this helps â˜șâ˜ș.

I personally think VScode is fairly intuitive, but there are lots of different opinions on this available via search bar ("text editor" or "IDE").
