I dont get the difference between print and input functions

Print just dispays text for the user. Input let the user interact with the program. You may want to make a program that collects data or maybe data that is introduced by user can affect the program shows after. Like ... a program that is a quizz for smokers. On the age input the program may work different if you tell you are a minor.
