Should i go for macbook air or windows laptop for coding

Question

So i am in first year of BTECH CSE and wanted to buy laptop...I heard that most of the programmers use Mac and it's the best but my budget only allows me to buy MacBook air 128gb model...since it has low space so I was considering Windows laptop with high space and specs ...
so please tell what matters from the following:-

1.battery life(6 hrs in Windows, 10 hrs in mac)
2.operating system(windows or osx)
3.space (256gb in Windows, 128gb in Mac)
