Can somebody help me match special characters?

So I can't seem to get it to match special characters.

People have given me suggestions, but no matter what, it won't seem to match them and display the number.

I forgot to add the event listeners. I'll try that in the morning.

I still need to add the event listeners for special characters. After that, i'll try and figure out the regex.
