What is Python, Ruby and Perl languages used to do?

What kind of applications are these languages used to produce?

They are script languages, and have many applocations. In python there are many frameworks and API's that allow you to build basically anything. This is true for ruby, which for example became widely used for the ruby on rails web development framework. I haven't seen Perl, but I guess it has the same nature.
