I'm a self learner with no degrees, trying to get an entry level job and someone with years of experience gave me an advice that, the best way to get the job is with git. Put your codes onto git and list the projects in your CV and use them as your experience, it is the solid prove that you can code, you can do your job. And now I'm doing exactly that. Hope this helps.

You can create decent apps and softwares through self-learnt programming skills and knowledge of computer science. It's different when you're applying for a job as a programmer or developer. Most of them require bachelor degree and/or years of experience in the industry.
