Newbie It's not as if the question is immediately removed. Link to the original question, along with a friendly reminder that the question is a duplicate, is given to the user. https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/1316935/?ref=app

No thanks. Use the search bar, for the love of everything that is holy. We don't need duplicate threads, let alone people who endorse such blasphemy.

Server space and load times are sacred for frequent/regular users of the app. Keeping duplicates down is essential. Otherwise, new features will have to wait on adding more server space, when we can be using our existing space more efficiently. I don't see moderators insulting people for posting duplicates (although the sheer number of duplicates can be quite intense at times, which means moderators are basically saints). Direct insults are usually redacted in some fashion as they are against community guidelines. Encouraging people to use the search bar (which, admittedly, is quite limited) and search engines (much better, even if Google's algorithm finally reached the tipping point of over-functioning to the point of being unable to override it providing you with the opposite of what you wanted earlier this year) is good for programmers because that's what any boss or client would expect you to do before coming to them with problems/questions. That being said, I do think we need a more streamlined [..]

[...] process for new SoloLearners. Maybe require them to complete a "Tour of SoloLearn" before they use the rest of the app or website, complete with drag-n-drop and fill-in-the-blank quizzes about the content creation guidelines and community guidelines, etc. Then have them list their first questions in a newbies thread until they get the 5 up votes badge (or something that approximates their quality of questions has passed a certain threshold). Just a thought.

I like your idea Janning⭐ It is really anoying that people ask the same question over and over. It is ok if they dont have experience in programming but please use the search bar to find the questions that have allready be asked. That way we all can greatly increase the efficency of the search bar, because it dosnt need to filter trough so many threads, and we can have a greater variety of threads that dosnt get lost in the sea of duplicates. Edit: i found this thread with the search bar.

I mean isn't that a rule for most forums? If you think it's bad here trying posting a duplicate on StackOverflow 😂
