I wouldn't simply start a new language while knowing just the the basics of an other. I once did the same but meanwhile I forgot most of it because I haven't practised enough. Also mastering one language is better than learning the basics of hundred. Anyway, Java will seem familiar for you as it uses nearly the same syntax. Python is quite different to C++ and for me (I also started with C++) it was harder to learn because I was so used to the C-like syntax of most other languages. Html and javascript are nice to learn, but it just makes sense if you want to create websites or webapps.

It depends what you are using it for. If you are a programmer then I guess mastering any language is good. I myself am an IC design engineer so I use python, matlab, verilog etc. as tools to get various tasks done. So for me computations efficiency of my scripts is not as important as being able to quickly realize the functionality that I need. Also the languages that I mentioned are relatively easy to read which means I can share my scripts with coworkers and they can easily see how the script functions.
