Who told you that you should learn all the languages? You only learn HTML, CSS and JS and still become a web developer!

Role of PHP in Web Applications. PHP is a server side scripting language. That means its processing happens in the server by consuming server's resources and sends only the output to the client. In a client side scripting language like JavaScript, processing happens in the client's computer consuming its resources.

Logan Simonsen the question is to be a web developer, for this we don't need any database.
For this we need Html+ any front end technology js, asp etc

no need to learn php. you can do everything you want without it (Nodejs). yeah NodeJS takes some learning, but you don't have to learn new syntax because it's just server side JavaScript.

To be a web developer you need to learn Html+Css with any framework that can run your logic like as angularjs, Jquery, javaScript, razor engine(c#).
SQL is very far away from web development.

Dear friend Logan Simonsen ,
SQL is a tool to do query with database where as web development is not directly related to database.
We can do web development without SQL.

Jai Verma if you want to work for a startup they will want you to know how to build an application that stores user information into a SQL database.

Jai Verma web developer has many different meanings to different people nowadays. I find it best to break things down by front end (HTML,css,js), back end and full stack. yes it's true that many employers consider "web developer" to be the front end, but increasingly employers want full stack developers and they are willing to pay a lot more for it.
