You should know what is front end and back end. HTML, CSS, Javascript you should know for front end (additional bootstrap) and for back end should know the database language like sql, MangoDB. And must have good command over one language which is used by server side like php as you mentioned.

For becoming front-end web developer, at first you have to learn HTML then I will suggest you to learn CSS although you can choose JavaScript! but I think learn CSS before JavaScript will better! Then you can learn Bootstrap!! It will ensure to add different options to your webpage which will attract the visitors!! For back-end you have to learn PHP, SQL, Python!

the are basically two domains in web development. the front end and the back end. the front end is the design and development of what the user or your client/suffef sees and interact with. languages involved here include HTML for structure, CSS for design and javascript for dynamics and alongside their frameworks. on the other hand back end involves languages like php, SQL for database and lot more
