I find NetBeans and intellij clearer then eclipse. I am not sure NetBeans supports android development though?

Eclipse is a good IDE to use, once you know the fundamentals of the language. It autogenerates a lot of code for you and helps make a lot of your codes effecient from the beginning. But the autocompile also makes you a bit dependent on the program to recognize errors and the debugger takes some time to get familiar with. So it is necessary to have a fundamental understanding of Java first

Netbeans is the first to support latest updates and versions of java since netbeans 8. Not aure about Netbeans 9 as it is handled by Apache(oracle handed over netbeans projects to Apache)

Nothing comes close to JetBrains products these days. All free, with paid extensions for more power.
