programming allows you to save time in doing a lot of tedious works while removing human errors. as for python, it allows integration with some softwares and the main important feature of being able to import functions from old programs saves us the time of re typing or copying them and at the same time allowing programs to be divided into many files. and the syntax is so easy any programmer can learn it in few days or weeks. That's why I think it's popular.
