what do you mean by software ?

editor? linter?

if it's about a development environment, it's subjective only.

you can use IDE like Spyder, Eclipse, Visual Studio

or editors like Vscode or Atom.

the choice is yours :)

Ok, VSCode is pretty fine to me.

if you need a full featured environment, Visual Studio is really great if you're on Windows
