Thoughts on "PCAP - Certified Associate in Python Programming" ?

Is it worth while to invest in certifications for Python? Has anyone found they gave them a better chance at landing an entry level python coding job?

IMO any certification is just a "decorator" - nice to have but not need to have. I'd better invest into: 1. Online repository of code proving candidate real coding skills - no fakes! 2. Online presence and activity in programming forums & maybe some educational clips in the area of interest & own programming blog 3. Proofs of proficiency in usually neglected areas such as programming paradigms, algorithmics, AI, IOT, domain knowledge, etc. Mastering a programming language(s) is by far not enough. If I was hiring I'd look at practical skills and not formal papers. It is reported (unable to provide links, sorry) that quite often diploma/certificate holders encounter problems while asked to "sit down and code something" on the spot.
