Any tips and/or personal experiences for people who are getting into coding based jobs without experience?

create a portfolio of small programs that you have written to show you know what you're doing to some extent. try and get qualified from oracle if you're doing Java. you can book the exams online and there are loads of places to help you revise for the exam. search for "OCA exam"
