Is C99 and C is different? If it is what are the dirrerences?

Hi I'm mechanical engineering student. I'm completely new to cording. In our university,the lecture is teaching us C99 . I can't understand anything and I searched in web. There's no C99 tutorials. If you know please provide me the information about C99.

C99 is a past version of the C programming language standard. C11 is the latest I think.
