Practicly programming application for real world use

Question

i am fairly decent with html and its markup, however for what i want to do i need more. i would like to colaborate with people on making a simple html interface page(button controls) and the necessary python programming to control a set of 3 motors, and recieve video and audio input as well as output. device will use a rasbery pi onboard running the program/html page and using remotr access to 'view' and control the robots feed. its an r2d2 droid. ive got the motor controllers and everything needed. robot came with a miriad of varios IO sensors from speakers and mic to IR and motion sensors. it was originally 1 of thsoe turn it on and it roams free avoiding obstacles toys. now it shall become an semu-autonomous home security protocol droid ;)
