I think SoloLearn should attach a feature to display the number of views of a code. What do you think about this?
This feature will help the users to determine the ratio of number of views and number of upvotes of a code. Please share your opinions about this issue.

I just can imagine code titles promising the good stuff just for views with nothing or poor content inside :)

Really would be a nice update. Moreover it will help us to analyze what people wants.Particularly for the gaming codes.

Then people won't be only begging for upvotes, but also for views. The forum will be spammed with "How can I get more views?" questions every single day. And it might be actually quite frustrating if the code you spent 45 hours on is only viewed by 3 people :D
I think Sololearn should focus on programming, learning, helping others out etc. All these voting functions, popularity rankings etc. are just causing trouble in the long run. That's why more and more platforms get rid of them.

Yes!
That Makes ALOT of sense,
Tough @HonFu Yes there will be viewstorms as a thing in SoloLearn.

Maybe a better alternative to the time suggestion: All codes must be posted anonymously. Only the title and code should be visible. Then if a person votes the coders name gets revealed and the viewer has access to the coders other codes on their profile. đđ This will throw a spanner in the works for the get-along-gang that like storm each others codes no matter how bad they might be đ

Can you explain please....

I don't completely understand why this would help. this site (and in my case mobile app) is made to help people learn to code, and is founded on the idea that that's easier to do with peers. it's NOT designed to be basically just a subreddit where people only post their code and beg for upvotes.

I like it. +1

yeah i agree with this! would be nice to see how many people my code actually reaches. then iâll be able to tell if nobody sees it or if my code just really sucks lol

Awesome Idea.

Bad idea! I agree with Kuba SiekierzyĆski regarding poor content. Everything, be it XP or views, becomes a "d*** measuring contest" within moments of its inception. I've been a forum mod 2 lives ago, I've seen how just publishing number of posts below a user's name and avatar began a mudslide of posts like, "cool", "awesome", "now way", "dude!", "wow", and the like. All from the same users. So we disabled the feature, deleted the spam, and mod-slapped the offenders. That was a tiny forum. I don't want to imagine what would happen on SL. It's bad enough SL have the aforementioned problem (I dunno how the mod team survive, I couldn't and would hate being an SL mod -- it's also far more fun just speaking freely than worrying about a code of conduct, heh), let alone introducing more features encouraging spam. *shudder*

Will we have viewstorms, too, then?

And that is actually true for all of this.
Even upvotes give NO information about what the upvoter actually did with the code.
If you start to measure viewtime, SoloLearn will still not know if the code stayed open while the 'viewer' went to the toilet.

While I think itâs a cool idea, this is a place to share ideas, itâs not YouTube

Yeah i agree that's good thing to make

those downvoter will grow up eventually, downvote are important to filter out bad code, not following comunity guideline, etc
