When scripting is referred to in programming, what is specifically being referred to here?
I was reading an article somewhere that said in learning programming eventually one would have to learn scripting. I don't think they meant Powershell scripting. As far as I know that's for network administration not programming websites and software programs. What confused me is that there are several languages under the scripting subject. Python maybe? Bash? Is Bash for web/coding or is that for something different? I can't find said article, it was a while ago when I read it, but it's just coming back to me now that I'm learning more as a coder.

Bash is for linux and powershell is for windows. Scripting can be used to automate processes.
