Is a late 2014 mac mini with a 500gb ssd worth 200 bucks if i just want it to learn coding?
it only has 4gb of ram (unchangeable) but i hear the ssd takes care of speed problems. i just want to use it to learn how to code better, as pythonista (ipad ide) is pretty annoying on my for certain things. intel core i5 1st gen 1.4Ghz

Should work fine as long as your WiFi is decent enough.

Coding doesn't take much resources. Just choose light tools and you're good to go. Surely a fancy IDE with tons of eye candy may suffer, but who said you can't learn without it? The only problem is if you want to write heavy applications.
Just a side note: SSDs give you faster OS and apps loading and memory paging, while more RAM avoids paging and do nothing about loading. They have different advantages.

Yes, it will work, but it will not be fast. I have one with sightly higher specs, and it takes afternoon to start Android studio, and do basic things. However my MacBook pro runs it perfectly. That said, it will probably do everything you need it to, and at that price, why not? You'll need a screen, keyboard, and mouse though.

any thoughts on its capabilities for mirroring an ipad pro via wifi? not possible? (with lag and fps issues)
