Only because you work in specific field, it not means that you are better programmer than someone.

game devs are better programmers but hackers usually make more money. a game could make more than a hacker could, although hit games are rare.

it depends on you,
there are lazy game devs that do visual scripting and just scrap all assets and monkey patch them together.

and for the hacker category, there are script kiddies ...which they don't program at all
