When you save a copy of someone else's code, a comment at the top will be added indicating the username of the creator of the code. There's no problem in making it public unless you removed that comment or the original coder wants it private especially if the code is getting significant upvotes.

Yes. You are right Taste But there is one thing. Getting fame using someone else's code is not allowed. For example you created a code. Then I copied it and post it as mine and get tons of likes and comments using your skills. It's not allowed (Or even if it is allowed it is not good to do also)....

Look at the lisence, if its under public domain sure. If it require you to give an attribution then give it. Just read the lisence

If you are copy someone's code just for learning purpose, better kipping it private. Because if mods will detect copied codes, they will make it private and issue a warning for you. Keeping private is better. Taste I think you are talking about copying code from external sites? Because Sololearn do not have a license.

I thought he want to copy from somewhere else. In SL idk, maybe we can put a lisence, i dont see any restriction about putting our own lisence in community guidelines

Its also stated in community guidelines, if we copy paste code from somewhere else we'll need to have the right to do so and also follow the third party lisence.
