Why am I not seeing people that I am following randomly.
When I do a search in a challenge for someone I am following they are not there. I know that the people are still active because when I do a global search for them I can find them. For example: I am following Bob Smith. I have able to message him in the past. But, today when I went to challenge him and went through the people I follow he is not there. However when I do a global search he is there. Is it something that I am doing incorrectly? (Bob Smith is a fiction name).

Is it possible that Bob Smith has disabled the language of your challenge from his "Manage Weapons" option? If you're unsure, you can ask him in a message.

OK I checked with one of favorite bros(hint) and he tells me that he has no disabled html, but I also have others that randomly are missing.

You can disable some or all of them
For example, I disabled all but pythonđ

The challenge mode seems to handle some stuff in the background that we don't get to see.
In theory here are millions of people right? Those who have their weapons activated, wouldn't they all have to be in your list of possible opponents?
Somehow some choice is made, also for the would-be challengees: I basically never get challenged, maybe once in a week, although I have all weapons activated; as soon as I initiate a few challenges myself, suddenly other challenges come in. Mysterious.
One of the many things on Sololearn I'd like more transparency about.

HonFu my guess would be that they search through people who have recently used the challenge module. Maybe it would be inefficient to go every time through a million people, and then half of them maybe haven't even used the app for a year. Searches would be longer, and more challenges would expire, which is not great experience for the person using the module.

bakitza, yeah, I also believe it must be something like that.
I'd be interested to know a bit more precisely how it works.
