Witch better PHP or .Net

I want to start learning a real big language and i want to know whitch one is better ?

Php and asp are similar in performance.
Asp.net is oftenly helpful for the applications which are highly scalable.

it depends on what youre trying to do,

.net is a whole framework designed for the windows platform and is by far much harder to learn compared to php due the vast amounts of new concepts to learn. However you can do more with it compared to php such as app and game development.

php on the otherhand in my opinion is a “silly but necessary” language to learn for server side scripting. that is, it is the interface between the browser and your database and is mainly limited to backend web development.
