So start with getting familiar with different operating system and databases first. Programming comes last, get my point?

Health care is a tricky system. Do you already have a functional system design of the information system?

Do simple systems first. Healthcare directly involve lives of other people. Wrong medicine or treatment, patient could die

If you start with programming, you will end up throwing away what you did. Patient medical records is all about a well designed database hosted on a robust operating system.

Make time to talk to medical practioners and ask them what information they need so they make proper diagnosis. You are thinking of building a decision support information.

Seems you are not getting my point, presently we are using the traditional way of keeping records (manually), so I am thinking of the programming skill I can acquire to develop myself in my career
