Yes, in really, just one programming language is enough for we create all that we need. If there is some hard thing, just implement the language with a new extension. However, it isn't what happens in the world. Now, the question is: why? Well, it's simple. The C language is very useful for today, but, managent dinamic datas is a few hard, with this, the C++ and C# language was created. However, C# is Microsoft's domain, so, it will create problems if, for example, Apple apply this language (it till could happen, but will cost a value soo expensive). With this, Apple can resolve this problem with it: creating a new language (for it, consider Swift language). Besides, a lot of languages are different among themselves. For example, Python and R are much useful in math apply (it's because the available packages there), however, PHP can not be (how PHP has a focus more database's comunication, it hasn't much math packages). The oposite also is valid.

Well, abridgeding, the reason of there are a lot of languages are two, mainly: domain and facility aplication over one field.
