Future of AI

Once my teacher said that, "As knowledgeable people say that AI is going to be trouble for us in the future, and it may even bring end of humanity, then why are we still trying to improve AI?". In fact, (at least for me) we're improving it to make our jobs easier but I don't know if there is any other reason of AI's being improved, I'm curious about your answers, so what do you think about that?

I understand your teacher's concerns, and yours, IMHO AI like any technology advancements, it has positive & negative impacts, you're right when you said AI helps our jobs easier, but this "easement" came with a price. One of the negative impacts most people feared is that AI may reduce the need for human. Factory workers replaced by robots, drivers replaced by self-driving cars, and many more human needs diminished from AI's help. Yet every year thousands of new job seekers graduated, some not so lucky to even graduate, and had to find a job to support their lives. Everyday babies are born, human population increases, there will be needs for jobs, houses, foods and all. How shall we deal with this fact? TBH I'm not sure, some people say if we don't go with the flow, we will be vanished, some others say train yourself to think and make your own job rather than to seek for one, but it's easier said than done. P.S. I have nothing against AI, was just expressing my thoughts and concerns, nothing more : )
