Looking for opinions and food for thoughts

I am re-qualifying from logistics to IT sector. That's where I face a dilemma of trying to get hired or follow up my personal projects. At some point felling tired of being hired. Getting a job can get me more coin, but possibly not platform and skills i seek, right? Thinking Full stack / C++ / python would be the way to go for me. Having skills to build websites, c++ for UE4 and python for AI looks quite romantic and fine starting point. Guys, what do you think?
