On one monitor they focus on code and on other monitor they see output. Some Ide allows real-time output too. So it's very helpful.

It is convenient to have a monitor for IDE/editor and another one for program output/browser.

Having multiple monitors gives more space and everything is not crowded on a single screen, and you won't need to minimize and maximize applications while switching one application to another. And yes as everyone above said you can code on one and see the output/result on other screen.

To be more productive and do multiple task at same time. The main monitor for e.g you have your terminal and ide running and on the second one your browser/output and developer tool. But it's up to you how you set up your work station. I prefer having mutiple monitors.

I'm using one monitor for development activities in IDEs, and second for information goals - output, documentation read and e.t.c.
