Can Notepad++ be a replacement for Eclipse?

Just wanted to know if I could use Notepad++ for my Java programs and as an IDE instead of getting Eclipse

IDE and Code Editors are two different things. IDEs are language specific while code editors are for general purpose creation and edition about codes. You may replace notepad++ with the mighty Sublime Text. Happy Coding!!

You can use Notepad ++ for writing Java files. But then you have to compile the filename.java manually. Notepad++ is not a complete IDE replacement. It's just a great editor
