Can I apply for a job even though I don't really have any certificates for web development?

Hi there. So I was actually wondering if I could apply for a job as maybe a junior Web developer? I don't have any certificates in terms of degrees or masters. I am self taught and have been designing of just about a year. I haven't made a portfolio yet but I have designed 2 websites, 1 for a charity organisation which I did for free and 1 for a corporate organization whom I just approached because they had a terrible website. Both were extremely pleased with my works. But I don't feel confident applying for a job. Have any of you landed anything without really having the necessary certificates?

Hey there, You can take some certification exams if you have a nice knowledge of web development such as the Google Web Developer Certification as it will help you get get high end jobs easily. Or you can try to get job in some another company but remember the Certification will play an important role.

Yes. Technology is the only field in which you can apply for a job without any professional degree or certificate. The recruiters only look for talent. They want humans with skills. Not robots with bookish knowledge alone.

Yes you could - if you already know some Web design, let that be your "certificate" or your cover letter. Make a personal website to showcase your skills, you can attract employers with a great page and no cert. Good luck
