how is the size of char 16bits and not 8bits?

In C it's not guaranteed to be 8 bits, but I guess "1 byte" is still correct wording. The number of bits in a byte might not always be 8 though.

Size of char is 8 bit and it is 1 byte and 1 byte =8 bit
Where did find that it 16 bit ?
