How does one remain determined?

For someone like me who finds it difficult to remain determined when learning anything, what’s a great method to follow??

IDGam3r,exercising 30 minutes a day every day is a great attitude! Perseverance is vital here, don't get discouraged if you are not getting the desirable results immediately, you are making progress anyway. Try to write a little piece of code every time you learn a new concept, you will understand it much better and if you save this piece and then check it out after say a week, you'll notice how much progress you've made without even realizing it 😃

determination = motivation (expectation of the benefits in the long run) + an instant reward. The reward you are getting from the learning process can come from different sources. It may be a sense of achievement that makes you happy, or support of the community, or just pure fun - doesn't matter. Without that, it's tough to stay motivated for long.

Hi IDGam3r nice question, but for me discussions like these, motivation for doing something, goal setting, can move into the realm of religion and politics which is something I approach with caution. Just sharing what I think. Thanks.

Determination... is a rare trait. Determination requires no prior reason or proof of concept to exist. You do it, not because you can, but simply because you will. As such, it isn't something you can learn. Akin to how resolve works, it is different for every person (as has been mentioned).

Well for me I’m of the mentality that “I really want to make a video game that pretty much does what Doom(1993) did and not only raise the bar on game design but makes every game that has ever been released look like an ancient relic” however When doing the actual “Learning”, because I’m a perfectionist and I like to master everything, I see the “Large” amount of stuff I would have to learn to “Master” what it is I’m learning and get discouraged thinking “There is no way I’m going to master this in a short period of time(I have 0% patience, nor will I likely develop patience)” and so I start with a “Just do 30 minutes every day”, and after like 2 days I’m thinking “I am getting absoloutely nowhere, and these terms being used confuses me”,(stuff like boolean and integer, etc) And I just stop completely.
