Where’s a logical place to start (“greeny”) towards a general understanding and ability to learn coding and programming?

I know the basics of HTML and that’s about it...but I’m more interested in the development of programs and networking than website building, so I’m not sure further focus on HTML is a good use of my time. Any suggestions? C, C#, C++, Python, etc????

SoloLearn tutorials are optimized for beginners with no prior knowledge in programming. In general, all the courses provided here would be able to kickstart your journey in programming. That said, we usually encourage learners to start learning a language which is relevant to what they wish to achieve with programming. IIRC, C/C++ is used for a variety of networking purposes, namely, socket programming (Ref: https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/socket-programming-cc/ ). Once you've gotten hang of C/C++ using SL, you can visit that g4g link. SL FAQ: https://www.sololearn.com/faq
