Is learning multiple languages beneficial?

Of those that have learned many programming languages, do you find that it helps more than just knowing one? If you already have a job in programming, do you need your knowledge in multiple languages? And finally, is it worth it to learn multiple languages simultaneously, or should different languages be learned consecutively?

I think it is only beneficial. When you learn more languages you realize they are in some way similar. You shouldn't use one language to implement everything. For example different languages are better for implementing different things. Also if you learn more of them, you find which one is best for you :) How to learn more of them? I think you can try learning one, try some coding and then add another and so on (if you are starting to learn as a hobby).
