What is the benefit to viewing source code from a webpage? (And is it ok to view source code form webpages?)

Yes, of course. It makes it easier to see what's actually being rendered sometimes. For example, is the content is dynamic, the only way to see what the code is is by looking at the source code or the elements tab in the developer controls
