Why did all the relevant discussion go away

Question

when i started these lessons i could look at the discussion and it was directly related to the question. now its all unsorted and anything to do with python in general. backsliding? maybe i will find another way to learn python.

Are you referring to Q&A Discussion or comments in the lessons? Q&A Discussion is more general than lesson comments which (somewhat) are more on topic with the respective course.

I could've suggested you to type "Python" on the search bar to narrow down the scope of discussion, but with the common tag abuse that was just a joke unfortunately.
