It's pre installed in kali Linux.

Metasploit my friend is a very good tool to deploy many attacks as well as develop backdoors and stuff.

To be frank you should use Kali Linux and you will find tools like that , to make you feel better about the concept.

Talking about background on which they work .I hope you know softwares , similar to them these tools are developed by programmers and other white hats to help in Peneteration testing and to test the security standards of a system .
