I'm looking for good practice to create API

Hi :) i have been programming for 4 years in C# and now i'm learning about API. I'd like to create best API and could you tell me where i can find examples or tutorials. I'm from poland but for me it's not a problem :). Could you also tell me how is going my English? I mean, did i any mistake?
