Good text editor or ide for Chromebook

Is there an ide like vs code that can be used on Chromebook? I currently have a Chromebook and have found nothing really available other than Karot which i have been using as a text editor.

Yeah i would. You can put a chromebook into developer mode to install and run Ubuntu but i would much rather have something that would run on the native chrome os. Im going to be getting a windows laptop soon, jusg looking for options in the mean time.

You could check out Atom or Visual Studio Code but it seems to me like you would need linux to run them on your Chromebook
