Challenges Identifiers! [Suggestion]

Sometimes I have a problem with a question in a language and there's no way to resolve it without asking someone. Some if not all have had to master the answer to a question because you cannot explain why the answer is X and not Y. We are learning and that's the end goal. If there was a way to assign the challenges a number so that If I need help from my challenger who got it right I can just request him to check say pls check "No.123" it's giving me problems. Why is the answer X and not Y? For less complicated languages this may not be necessary. Languages like Python and the rest become tough because there's no way of finding the help to solve. Is this a good idea? Your thoughts? If you disagree, how many questions have you mastered but didn't actually solve? Let's discuss.

Someone said you should struggle and learn. This is like reinventing the wheel. Why would someone struggle to find a concept for too long and waste time? How many times have you struggled to find why X is right, research, but still just can't get? This is why I really like the lesson comments. You struggle with something for far too long but feel relieved when someone jumps right in with the explanation that solves everything so as regards struggling alone to learn I don't think we would all be here without the help of people who have made our lives easier to explain concepts much easier. Struggling alone only leaves you with one choice, mark the answer and move on for the time being. Remember as much as challenges are fun, the end goal is to learn. An anonymous coder once said, "knowing how to code is one step, knowing why the code won't run is another. Understanding the code is paramount."

Maria⛈ it's good you brought up this discussion cuz there're lots of things I don't understand especially in python. Also if you try discussing with a fellow you might not know if the person is online to respond to your query if needed urgently. With this we can discuss amongst ourselves, ask questions concerning any lang you have problems with.

Maria⛈ I think the other solution will come when SL allow screenshot on chat platform. That's a good topic you put up there, a lot of people got dissatisfied that way they need explanation why answer is that not this

That sounds like a shortcut. Having to take a screenshot, upload I don't deny it works but imagine having to send just a number No. 123 to your challenger or challengers. What if you have more than one problem, how many screenshots do you have to take?

Your wise counsel King Michaël🤴 I agree the solution is with SL allowing screenshot in chat platform. Sometimes I just don't want it on my timeline.

I guess the IDs could be like 20190430_2000000 for the 2 millionth challenge on 30 April 2019. This way, you could review past completed challenges as well.

you can send a pm to your challenger and ask him about the question (number from 1 to 5) from last completed challenge between you two. if that person cleared the completed challenges it can open it from the the bell icon in the upper right corner of the screen. it's not 100% guaranteed to work, but there's a high chance as i've been asked and i used this way to see the question.

Take screenshot immediately if you tackle a tough one or wait for the challenge to complete to take its screenshot. I'll prefer the second one. After that, try Practicing that code in code playground or in your PC. Play with it. Understand how things work, print each and every line, print the value of each and every variable. You are not testing a code of 500-1000 lines, infact you are testing a code of hardly 10 lines, so it shouldn't be a problem. If you don't understand a particular point, immediately note that and search for it. I can be damn sure that you will 100% find a resource to understand it as there are tons of stuff on the internet. After reading it, come back to the problem. Do remember, if you are saying that you are learning something and its our end goal, so why there is a need of hurry or something like that, understand slowly and steadily. Keep things simple and practice the challenges problem. This is my point of view on your question;)

Maria⛈ lesson comments are very useful and I totally agree with you we need some ideas to understand the concepts and anybody can help in that process it can be you , me or someone else.

I don't get what you mean. Do you mean you want to have like an option to view explanations when you check correct answer so that you know where you went wrong?

Maria⛈ sure, that would be easier but then we would have to have access to all questions which is problematic.

Yaa that's a problem we don't have explanation of the questions for the challenges. Taking a screenshot and asking in q/a section is a good idea if both got answer incorrect because someone would be able to help. Otherwise search in Google. But doing so many challenges we may forget the questions that's the big problem and we will try to memorize the answer.

Besides the completed challenges it auto generates a number i++ so if previous was 1 next will be 2. Then a special date identifier maybe so that we have something along the lines of 3012 which may identify as date 30, challenge 12. Something like that. The identifiers should only work for TODAY challenges because technically you cannot go asking someone to review challenges they completed yesterday or even cleared. Same challengers share same Identifiers. Or an identifier like 12,1 should indicate challenge 12, question 1. You get my point?
