Web development or Java/C programming, which type of career should i choose? Which one is better? What are the jobs under these departments.

No one's better, though the salary may differ, but it's not a deciding factor for choosing which is better.

No one will give you the answer you seek.
However it's ultimately up to you to decide which you love the most .

If you simply love the idea of creating splendid we pages, then do web stuff .

On the other hand, if you'd love to make utility softwares, like Adobe PS, DropBox, then you might want to check out Java / C.

But do remember that you're certainly NOT tied to any of them, you can can make a successful web career after doing software with Java or C, and vice versa.
