What do you need to really know for Math in order to be great at coding

Depends on the coding you are doing. Certainly a solid understanding of algebra is a must. I have used statistics, linear algebra (matrices), even calculus in some of the code I've written over the years. But get yourself a really good working understanding of algebra.
