Incorporating different languages in one program?

Im studying Python and C++ at the moment. Im also interest in working with SuperCollider in the future, in order to make music related software. I was wondering if it is possible to combine different languages to handle different aspects of one program, if there are more affinity between specific languages (maybe Python and C++ are easier to integrate than letÂŽs say, Python and Java). And lastly, if there is any IDE that could integrate multiple languages in an easier way. Thanks
