Html and css just for web development? Or is it used in software and app development as well?

I was just curious to know if html and css is used to make the structure of software and not just for web?

With Electron you can make apps for Windows, IOS, Mac OS, Android, etc. Usin HTML, CSS and JavaScript

Well Html stands for hyper text markup language as any markup's languages they are used in many fields : web developement ,and in big projects of softwares and games developement
For Css it's made for html to add some styles and animations and many other features
