Honestly, I'd just go with whichever OS you're most familiar with and are able to work best in. Also, it'll depend a lot upon the platform you're developing for. For example, if you're developing for iOS then I'd become familiar with that OS. A lot of scripting & networking stuff I do (as well as web stuff) revolves around Linux, so I either do it directly from my Linux server or I do it from the tools I use in Windows and FTP the stuff over when I'm done.
So realistically, use whichever OS you're most comfortable with because it's easy enough to get the files over to the platform you require and test it afterward. It's much easier to deal with what you can work best with than it is to work with something you hate.

Linux is the best os for programming and working it is ment for stability and security it is also the future of gaming....
According to leaks of Microsoft as on 16may2019 windows is going to get the Linux kernel.windows is made for ease of use.... update 8sept2019 wsl2 or Windows subsystem for Linux 2 is with the Linux kernel.
Mac is made for working....(it's the worst)no offense.

It depends on what you are more familiar with, but one example if you want to program for ios native you need a Mac but if that is not your case just pick the most familiar with

Windows is best in the GUI and use friendliness it provides.
Mac provides wonderful security.
And, well, Linux may be good in security and for programming, but it doesn't provide a good user friendly GUI.
It depends on what purpose you are using it for.
Hope you'll find this helpful.
