Is it really necessary to have a bachelor's degree in Computer science to get a job?
I mean to say that, are the employers concerned about a piece of paper or do they required you to have skills for the work to be done. What's the thing(skills) that you can only learn them at a college or University and not at your home or by your own? Even by achieving a degree, there's no guarantee to be successful.

I don't think Bill Gates had a degree when he started Microsoft. But if you are not as good as that, it helps to have a qualification because of the filters that Melih Melik Sonmez mentioned.

It helps to get a job but it is not required to get a job.
Many progmming related jobs are distributed trough friends.
networking is more important than a degree.

Infact NO even bachelors degree will not help you to get a job but your path will be rocky without bachelors degree. Let me explain for you.
Imagine that you are a manager and willing to find a colleague from internet so you create an online advertisement from any career site. Just one day later you figure out that there are over 2k applicants waiting to be replied.
The first thing you do is using a filter to reduce applicants amount from 2k to 50. So even if you are one of the best for the job just cause of those filters you even not noticed.
So bachelors degree helps to pass filters at these days.
I suggest you to create your portfolio and a good website about you and deliver you resumes by hand.

Your knowledge is the first thing.
Having a bachelor degree is good but it does mean that you will get a job.
It's okay if you are having it but it is not compulsory.

No, it is not. I have a friend who is studying accounting but knows how to code. He is currently helping a mass transit system write an app. During his interview, they asked him how the courses he takes in school related to the job field, he said he was self taught.
Tbh, having a bachelors is an edge, but what they are looking for mainly is your knowledge. But in the case that you score the same points in an interview with someone that has a bachelors, he has a higher probability of getting picked over you. Just be wise!
