Who is they?

You've started C++, so finish that course. It's a great place to start for software development. From there, branch out to C#/Java/Python/C if you wish to continue in that direction. If you think web development may be more of your thing, then give HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery/PHP/SQL a try and build some websites/apps instead.

I think I may misunderstand you. Visual Studio is a great editor that's free, you may find it very useful for C++.

A good IDE for C++ programmers is Code::blocks.
Other alternatives include Visual studio 2017,eclipse c/c++ IDE,Cmake....
