How to be better at coding?

Well, I've studied programming languages but never went into more than just basics. It was around a week ago I realized I can't code. I've completed theoretical Core Java with AWT and Swing. When I try solving programming challenges on sites like HackerRank or HackerEarth, I'm not able to do it. I can solve only the basic ones. And for the ones I can think logic of, I face problem in putting it out into code. What should I practice and what am I doing wrong? Should I just continue like this?

Probably like for most beginners, what's blocking your way is not making your own bigger projects. Find what you'd like to create and what'd make you proud of finishing it.
