To run a javascript program in notepad do we need any software?

Notepad is a plain text editor, I encourage you to search for web design tools to learn web design & programming. Using Notepad to build web pages will require you more efforts as it doesn't come with coding support (code completion, syntax highlighting etc). To answer your question, no, it doesn't take a special software to run your JavaScript code, a simple web browser would be fine. Mind as I have said, Notepad or other editors are for writing/editing your JavaScript or HTML code, it is the browser that does the processing to "translate" your code to perform and behave as you intend it to. Hope I understood you correctly : )

Nope, we can use simple notepad or any texteditor. (Like HTML and CSS) Hope it clears...
